Church won’t name dying man in prayer to avoid breach of EU-backed data protection rules

A CHURCH has refused to name a terminally ill man in a prayer — for fear of breaching personal data rules.

Ian Duckworth asked clergy to bless the family friend but was told they could not do so without his written consent.
